Introducing ZAMA Group
ZAMA was founded in Japan in 1952, with 20 employees ZAMA primarily focused on the Japanese industry. Today, ZAMA has become a global organization with approximately 3,000 employees. Dedicating all its experience and expertise to Quality, Precision, and Service, ZAMA is the global market leader for diaphragm carburetors. Building on this experience in developing complex systems, ZAMA has grown its product portfolio which today includes advanced electromechanical components such as wire harnesses, solenoid valves and pumps, precision machined parts, and engineered textile products.

History & Milestones
1952
Founded as Shinagawa Die Casting Co. Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan
With 20 employees primarily focused on producing automotive parts for local customers. It then moved in 1962 to ZAMA City near Yokohama.
1975
Started carburetor production
With approximately 200 employees producing carburetors under the ZAMA brand.
1981
Established USA ZAMA Inc.
To serve US customers, beginning with sales and growing to include engineering and administration in Franklin, Tennessee by 1990.
1989-1991
Expanded production in China and Hong-Kong.
With facilities in Shenzhen, Hong-Kong, and Morioka, to meet the increasing capacity demand.
2003
Started production of chain oilers
As a first product portfolio expansion.
2004
Change of ownership
Wholey owned subsidiary while continuing to operate with financial independence.
2013
Developed ZAMA’s first solenoid valve
Shifting handheld power-tools to electronic fuel management.
2016
New production facility in Batangas, Philippines
With more than 2000 employees, ZAMA production expanded to a second location.
2019
Started production of wire harnesses
2021
Started production of engineered textiles
2021
PCBA production via joint venture
ZAMA and Elrad International Group established the joint-venture ZE Electronic Manufacturing Service Ltd. For the manufacturing of electronic assemblies.
2024
Continuous expansion
ZAMA opened the new headquarter and innovation center at the Hong Kong Science Park, and expanded production area in the Philippines with a second plant.
